βThe world will never die for lack of wonders but only for lack of wonderβ
G.K.Chesterton
My home is not any country nor any nation! My home is the rock that faces the wind; the mountain that stands high and seems to touch the sky; the desert that looks dry and empty, but somehow it is full of life; the forest that helps us to breath and give us shelters, the falls and rivers hat nourish the seas, the sea where the force of nature rules; the falls that nourish the forest; the clouds, the sun, the moon and the stars that add their final touch so everything comes balanced together to create a habitat where all species can survive, thrive and flourish harmoniously in a planet they call it home.
This planet is also my home. As a living being, I am fascinated by the beauty and complexity of all organisms, their interactions with one another and with their physical environment, which together compose the ecosystem. They complement each other, and everything becomes essential for each one's survival.
At the age of 5, I went hiking with my dad, who was a nature lover and hiker. We were on the top of a hill early morning when I became aware and witnessed my first sunrise from behind the summit of a snow-capped mountain. I still remember the beauty of that moment. I told my dad that one day I will hike to the top of that mountain. Since then, I have been hiking in nature, observing wildlife and learning about them. Sharing these personal experiences can inspire others to develop their own connection with nature and motivate them to protect wildlife.
My love of nature led me to become, at first, a naturalist and then an ecologist. Through my graduate studies in ecology, I have become very knowledgeable about animal behaviour and feel very comfortable around wild animals. My ethical approach to wildlife is to observe without letting wild animals know I am there. Protecting the habitat of the fauna and flora has been my priority. Using my photography to sensibilise the public to the fragility of nature and the beauty of my subject, and to lead people to adopt ways to be in nature without harming wildlife, is my objective.
I owe nature what it made me who I am today, and I will never be able to return to nature a fraction of what it has given me. To help protect wildlife and its habitat, I donate most of the profits from my photo sales and prints to causes and organizations such as the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and local groups in the country or the location where I am photographing. You can support conservation by volunteering, donating, or spreading awareness about these organizations and their work.
